Muscycle is short for music recycle. Their project is to make music from anything that can make sound by recycling things that otherwise would end up as trash. The group collects wood, metal, rocks, food and makes musical instruments out of it. This summer, Muscycle can be found on the streets of Reykjavík, playing both covers and original songs. Muscycle is formed by Atli Arnarsson, Guðmundur Ágúst Ágústsson, Sóley Sigurjónsdóttir and Sólrún Ylfa Ingimarsdóttir. Atli and Sólrún both studied classical music in Sigursveinn D. Kristinsson’s School of Music, Atli playing classical guitar and Sólrún playing the violin, but now Atli has moved over to FÍH, studying electric guitar. Sólrún also playes the jazz-piano (as well as having played on cello since the age of 7) and intends to study composition in the Iceland Academy of the Arts. Guðmundur is a self-taught guitarist and pianist.
